The Magnetic Storms application was developed to allow monitoring of the Earth's magnetic field in near real-time, using data from GOES satellites that monitor solar activity and a network of magnetic stations worldwide. With enhancements driven by the growing user base and the availability of new parameters related to the Sun and Space Weather from space agencies, the app now offers a wealth of additional information in a user-friendly manner.

The app provides key parameters such as the Kp Index, A Index, instant solar wind speed, counts of class C, M, and X solar flares in X-rays, proton and electron flux, X-ray flux, and magnetic field measurements as observed by GOES-16. By analyzing this data, users can anticipate sudden changes in the Earth's magnetic field at ground level and predict aurora occurrences with some lead time.

Designed for those interested in monitoring solar activity and its impacts on Earth, including disruptions to radio and TV transmissions, electrical transformer station blackouts, auroras, and magnetic storms.
